Naomi House for the Salvation Army at the VA in Los Angeles
This work was done for the Salvation Army's shelter for homeless women veterans living at Naomi House in one of the dormitory buildings on the Veteran's Affairs site in Westwood. The plan called to renovate the bathrooms, install new lighting and upgrade all the mechanical systems. The sketches below show the design ideas for a new commons room, the dining area and bedrooms. The intent was to improve the sense of privacy and also provide comfortable common spaces so the women would feel safe, be at ease and start their recovery from traumatic past experiences.
