Lindbrook Drive, Los Angeles
- This 1940 California Monterey home was completely renovated. By lowering the existing backyard, the dining, family and kitchen rooms were given access to the patio and backyard. Pocket doors off the family room and breakfast corner connect these rooms to the fruit tree orchard and raised bed vegetable garden beyond. French doors, an eyebrow window and remodeled fireplace were added to the living room to add historic details and the ceiling was restored to its natural wood beamed glory. The library was designed to house the owner's miniature building collection. The kitchen was connected to the family room by opening the wall between them. The bedrooms on the second floor were relocated to the corners of the house to give them windows on two sides and the bathrooms and closets were moved between to add acoustical separation. The five bedroom home is now gracious, connected to the backyard and ready to entertain guests.
