The client wanted the garage to look like a garage from the street, even though it has been converted into an accessory dwelling unit, ADU. One pair of the existing garage doors were kept in place and used to create a trompe-l'oeil, or trick to the eye. One of the garage door windows was remodeled tooperate and also bring light into the area by the closet. The conversion of the garage into an ADU is kept private as it houses a relaxed space and access to a terrace with firepit and garden.
